Our Journey

IDPMS started off as the Indo-Dutch Project Management Society and was under the guidance and support of the Government of Netherlands. Founded on 29th February 1988, we have worked on several bilateral projects around Karnataka and reached and changed the lives of over 8000 families over the last 28 odd years. We also regularly network with other reputed voluntary and community-based organizations to reach out to larger groups of people and have worked relentlessly in improving their lives and bettering the community as a whole.

As our management team here in India grew stronger and more independent, we started depending lesser on the Government of Netherlands and right now we are backed by an experienced board and young and enthusiastic volunteers and are marching forward with a zeal to touch as many lives as possible.

The Transition

Once we started working independently, our team spent considerable time discussing on what was needed for the hour and how effectively we could make a change.

The Current State

Our people in and around rural Karnataka do not have access to a sustainable livelihood. There was redundancy in skills, no means to regular income and there was very little knowledge about the social and economic security schemes of the Government. Healthcare was also a major problem that needed immediate attention.
